Moura meets all environmental standards set by current legislation, including the recycling of batteries in accordance with the National Solid Waste Policy, Resolution CONAMA 401/08 and Law No. 12,305 / 10. The Company invests heavily in environmental safety at all of its plants, maintaining constant and stringent control of the air quality, water quality, and quality of land around its sites. Due to its investments and in accordance with legal requirements, Moura is ISO 14001 certified, which testifies that the company’s activities are environmentally responsible. In order to obtain and maintain its ISO 14001 certification, the company is submitted to periodic audits by an accredited certifier that is recognised by both national and international organisations.
At Moura, we have a recycling structure that aims to correctly dispose of all discarded batteries. Our entire Distribution Network are able to accept used batteries, which are then treated in accordance with the National Solid Waste Policy, Resolution CONAMA 401/08 and Law No. 12,305 / 10. All discarded batteries are returned to our manufacturing plants to then re-enter the production process, and almost 100% of its components are reused. The main difference between the products is the fact Moura Boat offers a Deep Cycle type battery. The Boat products have been specially developed for use in marine vessels and offer a charge of up to 80% of its capacity, whilst this value is 20% for car batteries.

Moura batteries last up to 50% longer than ordinary batteries. Its positive laminated plates and its three-dimensional spatial structure aid in retaining the active material to the grid, increasing resistance to vibrations and cycling. The batteries also have an anticorrosion alloy that guarantees less time in the recharges and significantly reduces the corrosive action of the electrolyte on the plates and connections. Our automotive batteries offer better performance in vehicles with electronic injection and are recognized by leading automakers as a superior product. Our product mix makes us apply to all fleets in the market, including start stop vehicle technology, EFB and AGM batteries.
In order for the guarantee to be made, the consumer must retain the guarantee certificate and present it when requesting the service. Each certificate contains the same laser-engraved serial number as the accompanying battery. To trigger the warranty, the consumer must contact the distributor in his area. Once the certificate can not be located, you can request the service from the invoice and / or take the product to our authorized representative.
Yes. We have our own Technical Assistance Network with more than 80 points spread throughout Mercosur. Some exclusive distributors offer home care, depending on their area of action and according to the existing demand and the possibility of performing the service. Moura Clean batteries are sealed batteries and do not require maintenance. They have been specially designed for stationary use such as nobreaks, telecommunications, GTDE, oil and gas. They have greater resistance to cycling, higher temperatures, and are able to remain in standby mode for much longer than ordinary batteries. Moura Clean are certified for use in telecommunications by Anatel, who are the industry’s most demanding body. The batteries were also the first to be certified by Inmetro. They have a safety system which allows them to be used alongside electronic equipment and have even been adapted to deal with Brazil’s tropical climate so that they are able to operate at high temperatures.
To achieve the estimated optimum useful life of four years, the batteries should be kept at a temperature of 25°C. Any higher than this and you should consult our technical brochure for a more accurate estimate of its useful life.
Stationary batteries are not recommended for use in cars. Car batteries are characterised by constant vibration and charges of high electric currents for just a few seconds (during vehicle start-up). Stationary batteries are designed to provide relatively low electric currents for longer periods, and operate under conditions of constant voltage fluctuation.
To know the date of manufacture of your battery, we ask that you verify the code engraved on the product. This code is located at the top of the battery, where it is laser engraved day, month and year of manufacture, Ex: B-27/06/18-C4-0396, manufacturing June 27, 2018. It is recommended to charge with constant voltage and variable current chargers (smart charger) with maximum current of 25% of the rated capacity of the battery. If you do not have intelligent corregedores, you should use slow loading. We understand as slow load the load in which the current is limited to 10% of the value of the capacity of the battery. Example: 60 Ah battery – maximum recharge current of 6 A. Another factor that damages the battery life is the recharge voltage. The higher, more gasification the battery will generate and, consequently, the greater the loss of electrolyte.
In general, smart chargers are the most appropriate because they regulate the current to the proper value and, once the battery is charged, they will automatically terminate the procedure.
Unfortunately, we cannot determine this as it is dependent on several factors, such as battery charge, electrical leakage, electric current required to start the engine, temperature etc.
The best way of doing this is by giving the battery a high charge and measuring the voltage at each end. If the voltage drops too low, it is a sign that the battery is empty or at the end of its life. To perform this test, we recommend that you visit one of our authorized centres in our Technical Support Network, where a responsible technician can perform the appropriate test. Yes, but with the compromise of its durability, even the guarantee is restricted to 90 days. All automotive batteries are designed for high current intensities in short periods of time. The stationary ones work best with much smaller intensities and in long periods. Moura produces stationary batteries with ventilated technology or VRLA, which provide greater durability for flotation applications.
It depends on the specification of the battery and the vehicle. It is important that the charging system and battery are scaled whenever you install new accessories with higher power consumption. Ideally, you should seek advice on your battery’s model from your electrician.
Car batteries are designed to generate high electric currents for short periods of time in order to start the vehicle. Stationary batteries, however, are designed to generate relatively low currents for long periods of time. These are able to remain constantly charged throughout their operating life, which is called fluctuating charge or standby.
Moura’s stationary batteries are highly resistant to leakage and their efficient safety mechanisms mean that they can be installed alongside electrical equipment.
